Sign Placement
- Used for advance notice signs about upcoming projects
- Sometimes requires the use of Variable Message Boards
Detour Route
- Collection of Detour Signs to guide diverted traffic along a set path
- Used in conjunction with a roadway closure, or for alternate routes
- Also used for Pedestrian Detours
Flagging
- Uses Flaggers to divert traffic onto a single lane
- Flaggers can also control traffic within an intersection
- May require Law Enforcement Officer for intersections
Shoulder Closure
- Closes a portion of a roadway shoulder for work or safety concerns
- Some states require using a Truck-Mounted Crash Attenuator for highways
Road Closure
- Closes a section of roadway to thru traffic
- Often requires a Detour Route
- May require Lane Closures in advance of closed area
Special Event
- Cordons off areas for pedestrian or event use only
- Often requires multiple Lane Closures, Road Closures and Detours
- May require Flaggers or Law Enforcement Officers at intersections
Single Lane Closure
- Closes either a right, left, or center lane
- Normally requires a Flashing Arrow Board
- Some states may require a Truck-Mounted Crash Attenuator for highways
- Often requires a Law Enforcement Officer for highway setups
Double Lane Closure
- Closes two lanes on a roadway
- Normally requires two Flashing Arrow Boards
- Some states may require a Truck-Mounted Crash Attenuator for highways
- Often requires a Law Enforcement Officer for highway setups
On Ramp / Off Ramp Closure
- Closes a highway on ramp, off ramp, or both
- Often used in conjunction with lane closures
- May require a Detour Route
Two-Way Traffic Pattern
- Used to divert traffic into a created lane
- May require two Flashing Arrow Boards
- Must be set and removed in a precise order
Rolling Roadblock
- Movable multi-lane closure for the highway
- Requires multiple vehicles equipped with warning lights
- Often requires multiple on-ramp closures using stationary vehicles
- Normally requires multiple Law Enforcement Officers
Lane Shift
- Used to shift lanes of traffic around a work area
- May require lane closures to set and remove
- May require covering or removing existing lane lines
- May require temporary line tape or striping for new lane lines
- May require Barrier Wall and Crash Attenuators to shield work zone
Traffic Signals
- Uses portable trafic signals to divert traffic onto a single lane
- May require Flaggers to set and remove
- May require covering or removing existing lane lines
